The Great Bead Escape!

ESCAPE INTO THE WORLD OF JEWELRY ART....

Leaving tomorrow for a wonderful retreat, The Great Bead Escape!!  I missed last year due to shoulder and neck surgeries, but I am so excited to be going for my second time this year!  The retreat is put on by Ronda Stevens of Twist & Turns and Jennifer Shibona of Mad Chiwawa Designs.   This year's Retreat is going to be held at Lake Yale Baptist Retreat Center in Leesburg, Florida.

There will be 12 instructors teaching 5 sessions of classes!  I will be taking the following classes:

Crystal Clay with Jennifer Shibona

Etched Copper/Engraved Copper with Gary Davis

Cold-Working Copper with Holly Merton

AND

Advanced Cab Cutting with Ed Stevens

So looking forward to advancing my knowledge in metals and learning a new technique with the crystal clay.  I am also looking forward to learning to cut advanced shapes in the cabbing class!

Also teaching at the retreat this year are Susan Sudnik, Trudy Spillane, Genny Smith, Denise Baker, Michelle McCarthy, Renee Kelley and Rhonda Bergman!

On top of learning new techniques and meeting new friends, the Retreat supports Ribbon Riders!  A charity supporting breast cancer awareness and assistance to people fighting breast cancer.

Riding with me to the Retreat this year is Laura Kay Darvill.  We will be meeting for the first time tomorrow, so hopefully she doesn't mind a fast moving vehicle!  Looking forward to reuniting with old friends and making a few new ones!  Will be posting photos of my new pieces on Monday!!!
